ABOUT THE SHELTER

The Shelter is a teaching and recording studio based in inner-city Liverpool. You will find a creative, comfortable space where you can receive experienced tuition on drums or guitar, or come record with your band, church or community group or as a solo artist. Using the latest DAW software and great quality mics and instruments you can expect a professional service and standard of recording. James is a well respected and experienced musician. A multi-instrumentalist, he takes pride in bringing excellence and professionalism to every aspect of his musicianship, inspiring these principles in those he teaches, mentors and records with.

 

James says....

"I have been a professional musician for over 15 years now, performing, recording and teaching music in a wide variety of settings since 2005. I have been recording and teaching privately from The Shelter since 2014.

"I have performed and recorded with many acts including singer songwriters, rock bands, big bands and jazz quartets to name but a few. I continue to gig on a regular basis across the country and have performed in some of Merseyside's best known venues including the M&S Bank Arena, The Philharmonic Hall, The Empire Theatre, The Epstein Theatre and The Cavern."

PRO DRUM TRACKS

Want live drum tracks without paying for a full studio session? James has recorded professionally for many artists over the years, in a number of different styles, and now is ready at The Shelter to record professional quality drum takes for your project! Here’s how to do it-

Contact me with your project details through the form below. We can discuss what you are looking for over email or phone.

 

I will then send you a quote for your project and if you’re happy you can send your music over to me.

I will record your drum track, then send you an mp3 of your track for you to check.

 

I can then do two revisions for you to make sure we get the perfect take for your song.

3. Once you are 100% happy I will invoice you, and when payment is received I send you a download link to the drum files, containing a mixed stereo wav file, and the unprocessed stem files for each part of the kit.

 

These can then be placed straight into your song session for mixing!

At The Shelter, James offers quality professional lessons in both drums and guitar for all ages. He has been teaching people of all ages and abilities for many years now and you can read some testimonials below:
